Carburizer is a kind of black or grey particle (or block) coke or
petroleum coke follow-up product with high carbon content, which
can reduce the oxygen content in molten iron and improve the
mechanical property of castings during metal smelting. In the new
smelting process of synthetic cast iron, the use of scrap steel is
greatly increased. The carbon content of molten iron is adjusted by
adding a carburetor, which ensures the quality of molten iron and
greatly reduces the production cost.
Function
Based on the crystal structure of carbon in the carburetor, the
carburetor can be divided into amorphous state and crystalline
state; It can be divided into graphitized carburetor and
non-graphitized carburetor according to the existence form of
carbon atom. Graphitized carburetor mainly includes graphitized
petroleum coke and graphite electrode. Graphitized petroleum coke
carbon extender is widely used in the casting industry. Its
production process is to heat the raw material petroleum coke in
the graphitized furnace at 2200-2600 ℃, so as to transform the
amorphous disorderly layer structure carbon crystal of petroleum
coke into three-dimensional ordered graphite crystal through high
temperature heat treatment process, i.e., achieve graphitized state
through graphitized process.

electrosmelting processes. In metallurgy carbon raiser (milled
graphite) is widely used for slag foaming, during coal graphite
production, as a filler for graphite-reinforced plastic.
