What is Silicon Metal?
Metallic silicon, also known as metallurgical-grade silicon or
simply metallurgical silicon, is a form of silicon that is
primarily used in the production of aluminum alloys and silicones.
It is produced through the reduction of silica (SiO2) with carbon
in an electric arc furnace, resulting in a high-purity silicon
product.

Applications
1. Silicon Metal is used in large quantities to smelt ferrosilicon
alloy as an alloying element in the steel industry and as a
reducing agent in the smelting of many metals.
2. In organic silicon chemical operations, granular & powder
silicon metal is a base material used in the synthesis of organic
silicon products. It is often used to manufacture silicon monomers,
silicone oils, and silicone rubber preservatives. As an additive,
this product provides a significant increase in temperature
resistance, electrical insulation, corrosion resistance,
waterproofness, and many more highly valuable properties.
3. Some of the more valuable applications of silicone metal involve
using silicon wafers to produce integrated circuits and other
electronics components. The granule & powder undergoes a drawing
process, turning it into monocrystalline silicon wafers. High-tech
industries are essentially driven by silicon.
